Description: |
Reporting to Technology Lead - Oil Sands Technology Development,
the Technology Development Engineer – Oil Sands Technology
has a primary function to provide R&D support to optimize current
oil sands technologies and develop innovative technologies in support
of future expansion plans.
Key Challenges:
- Responsible for planning, execution, analysis and reporting
of research and pilot plant programs in support of upstream technology
development (lead or support role depending on experience and
scope of program)
- Technology support to MRM site in support of troubleshooting
and optimization of existing technology base
- Provide technical support to senior technology specialists within
Oil Sands Technology group
- Non-routine problems, constantly evolving technology platform,
unconventional applications of known technology
- Blend of mineral processing and hydrocarbon management expertise

Requirements: |
Engineering degree required in the areas of mineral
processing or chemical engineering, preferably at Masters/PhD level
0-5 years experience (depending on academic degree)
Eligible for APEGGA registration as EIT
Strong technical skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Interpersonal/ team skills
Working knowledge of standard MS Office software suite
Exerience with process simulation software (IDEAS, Hysim)
