 | | Senior Research Geologist or Geophysicist | « back | | | Position Title: | Senior Research Geologist or Geophysicist | | | Location: | North America | | | Reference Code: | OA8031103 | | | Description: | As an experienced Senior Research Geologist or Geophysicist, you’ll have a passion for R&D to complement an interdisciplinary team of geologists, geophysicists and reservoir engineers. Joining the Quantitative Reservoir Management (QRM) team in EP R&D, you’ll develop, test, implement, apply and deploy new concepts in reservoir analysis and field management. QRM’s portfolio of R&D projects revolves around comprehensive data integration, reservoir property inversion, ‘smart fields’ and ‘smart’ reservoir management. QRM’s ultimate aim is to develop methods, algorithms and workflows for integrating all available field data (e.g. geology, well production, reservoir pressures, 4D seismic, geomechanical and EM data) in real time, and manage the reservoirs to yield optimal business value. | | | Requirements: | With a PhD in the geosciences or a related field and proven experience of R&D or an operational assignment, you’ll have established a first-class reputation in multiple areas of your discipline, for example geologic modeling, seismic inversion, rock/fluid physics, uncertainty analysis or development planning. Familiarity with a suite of computer-based interpretation, modeling, simulation and analysis tools is essential, while computer programming and software development skills would be an advantage. Continuous and effective interaction with our internal and external researchers will be vital to your success, and you must be able to independently execute sub-projects that involve cross-disciplined stakeholders in both R&D and operations, and coordinate the scheduling of the tasks involved. We’ll also expect you to have proactive documentation and reporting skills involving a wide range of publications and presentations, and you should be ready to take on other responsibilities as needed. | | | « back | enquire about this position | | |
