Description: |
- Acting as a technical contributor to research in exploration
geophysics and working as part of a team developing electromagnetic
methods for oil and gas exploration
- Writing or using modeling code and progress to experimental
design and interpretation of IP data
- Modeling and interpretation of electromagnetic fields in a borehole
environment would be highly desirable as well
- The work will be done initially In the USA; however, it is possible
that the job may relocate to Europe
- Some international travel (about 10 %) and field work (about
10%)

Requirements: |
- Ph.D. in geophysics, physics, or applied mathematics
- Five years research or industry experience post degree
- Experience in induced polarization (IP) and other electromagnetic
effects in typical oilfield settings
- A publication record consistent with a research career is expected
- Established knowledge of the basic physics of IP and electromagnetism
in the earth in general
- Experience in modeling IP effects on Controlled Source Electromagnetic
(CSEM) data
- Experience in interpreting/inverting CSEM data for IP effects
- Some international travel (about 10 %) and field work (about
10%) will be required
